Meet Dr Dean

Dr Gi Yong Dean Park graduated with Honours in Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Queensland in 2020, and has spent the past six years working in private dental clinics — first in Brisbane from 2021 to 2023, before relocating to Sydney in 2023.

Throughout his career, Dr Dean has developed a particular interest in orthodontics, dental implants, restorative dentistry and comprehensive treatment planning. He completed a two-year orthodontic program through the OrthoED Institute, earning a Certificate in Orthodontics, and has also pursued further training in implant dentistry, achieving Fellowship status with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI).
Dr Dean’s clinical experience spans general and preventive dentistry, orthodontic treatment, clear aligners, dental implants, crowns and bridges, wisdom teeth and a range of restorative and surgical procedures. Rather than treating each area in isolation, he enjoys combining different disciplines to create practical, personalised treatment plans — always with a conservative philosophy that prioritises preserving natural tooth structure wherever possible.

Outside dentistry, Dr Dean enjoys tennis, squash and golf, along with the occasional Netflix and anime binge.

For anxious or nervous patients, Dr Dean focuses on making the experience as predictable and comfortable as possible, explaining each step before and during treatment and never rushing patients into a decision.

Patient FAQs

Dental implants can be a strong long-term solution for replacing missing teeth, though suitability depends on factors such as bone health and overall oral health. Dr Dean, a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, will assess your individual case and talk through whether implants are the right option for you.
This depends on your specific alignment needs. Dr Dean has completed a two-year postgraduate program in orthodontics and can assess your bite and teeth to recommend whether fixed braces or clear aligners would best suit your goals.
Dr Dean will first assess your wisdom teeth with an examination and any necessary imaging to determine the best approach, and will talk you through what to expect before, during and after the procedure.
