Meet Dr Alice

Dr Alice Shan completed a Bachelor of Medical Science at the University of New South Wales before going on to study a Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Melbourne, graduating with Honours. During her studies, she received a number of academic awards and prizes and was listed on the Dean’s List for academic achievement.

Alice is passionate about all aspects of dentistry, with a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry and orthodontics thanks to her keen, artistic eye for detail. She is a strong advocate for early orthodontic intervention in young patients, helping to address developing dental crowding and bite issues at a stage where it can support healthy jaw development and straighter teeth — potentially reducing the likelihood of more complex treatment, including surgery or tooth extractions, later in life.

Alice has a deep appreciation for the connections between oral health and systemic health, and brings a holistic approach to caring for her patients as a result. She has maintained a high level of continuing education throughout her career to stay current with dental technology and evolving best practice, completing Graduate Diplomas in Clear Aligner Therapy and Orthodontics, along with further comprehensive courses in orthodontics and implantology.

Understanding that a visit to the dentist can be a stressful experience for many patients, Alice takes a gentle approach — taking the time to explain each procedure clearly and helping patients feel at ease in the dental chair. Her goal is to empower every patient to achieve a smile they feel confident about.

Outside the practice, Alice stays fit and active, spending plenty of quality time outdoors with her cavoodle, Ollie, or in the kitchen cooking and baking.
